Welcome to Drive Wise Training Services, based in Launceston, Tasmania. Tim Bunton, the owner of Drive Wise Training Services and a qualified driving instructor, brings a wealth of driving experience from Tasmania and across all Australian States and Territories.
With a strong background in safety and workplace training, holding a Certificate IV in WHS and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, Tim combines his extensive driving expertise to provide you with a safe, knowledgeable, and comfortable learning experience at a pace that suits you. This approach allows you to enjoy the journey as you learn to drive and become a competent and confident road user.
As a father of three teenage daughters, all of whom he has taught to drive, Tim understands the challenges and fears that parents face when their children are learning to drive. The mission of Drive Wise Training Services is to support both learners and families through this important milestone.

We can support driving goals for individuals aiming for greater independence and community access, including those receiving OT support or utilising NDIS-funded capacity building supports (where appropriate to your plan and provider arrangements).

Collaborative approach: When supporting learners with specific learning needs, our specialised driving instructor collaborates with an Occupational Therapy driver assessor throughout the learning journey. This coordinated approach ensures that driving lessons align with assessment recommendations, goals, and strategies to help learners build safe, transferable driving skills with confidence.

We understand that every student is unique, which is why we offer customised, OT collaborative training options. $120/hour.

Unfortunately no. For safety reasons lessons are conducted in Drive Wise Training Services dual control Subaru Forester (Automatic) vehicle.
Our driving school uses a late model, well-maintained Hybrid Subaru Forester that is equipped with dual brakes, dual accelerator and dual mirrors for your safety.
Unfortunately no. Drive Wise Training Services can only provide lessons or training in an automatic vehicle.
Drive Wise Training Services operates in all areas of Launceston and surrounds. Pick up and drop off can be provided to your home, school or workplace within the city. Or give us a call to discuss your location and how we may be able to assist.
There is no exact answer to this question? This will depend on your level of experience and competence. This will be assessed during your initial driving lesson with us and feedback provided to assist you in gaining a clearer picture of your existing driving skills and an advised training plan.
Yes. Please give us a call to discuss an out of hours driving lesson. Please bear in mind Tasmania's extended period of daylight hours during Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT - October to April). We are happy to work with you at a time that is mutually convenient to help you achieve this requirement (Mandatory minimum of 15 hours required to be logged).
We are able to provide lessons 7 days a week, between 7.00am to 7.00pm. If these times don't work for you please give us a call to discuss an out of hours driving lesson. No additional fees apply.
